What we collect, and what we do with it.
We collect an email address and an organisation name when you ask for a publication, and we use them to send what you asked for and occasional Verellax publications. We do not sell them and we do not pass them to a third party for their own use. Unsubscribe in one click, in every send. Collection notice under the Privacy Act 1988 and the Spam Act 2003.
If you buy a Diagnostic, we also hold the specifications you supply to us and your billing details; the specifications are used only to produce your reading and never enter the public record.
We count page views to see which pages are read. The counter sets no cookie, keeps no identifier, and cannot tell us who you are.
On the Edition One page (verellax.com/edition-one) you may also tell us your company, your role and what prompted you to read it, all optional, and tick a separate box to hear from us about the Diagnostic; that consent is kept apart from the edition subscription, with the time you gave it and the words you were shown, and unticking one never changes the other. We also record which campaign link brought you there (its source, medium, campaign and placement, or the site you came from) and send it with the form; it is kept in your browser, not in a cookie, and never carries your email address.
We also run the LinkedIn Insight Tag, which tells us which LinkedIn campaigns bring readers here and lets us show our LinkedIn ads to people who have read the site. Unlike the counter, it sets LinkedIn cookies and sends your visit to LinkedIn, which can match it to your LinkedIn account; the LinkedIn privacy policy governs what LinkedIn does with it, and you can turn off ads based on site visits in your LinkedIn settings. It stays off when your browser is set to a European time zone or sends a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal, and it never loads on the pages that confirm or end a subscription. LinkedIn reports to us in totals and never tells us who you are.
If you join the waitlist for the workflow workshop (verellax.com/workshop), we keep your name, your work email, your organisation, the time you agreed to hear from us and the words you were shown, and your answers to the questions about the workflow you would bring, if you give them. We use them to email you about workshop dates and to prepare the session, and for nothing else. Joining the waitlist does not subscribe you to the Index, and your answers never become a published figure. Every email about the workshop carries a link to leave the waitlist. We delete a waitlist entry 24 months after it was last updated, or sooner if you write to hello@verellax.com and ask.
